River Valley Adoption Coalition
You can help in many different ways.

  • The RVAC is always looking for volunteers to join us in getting the word out about the need for foster/adopt homes.
  • Display the Heart Gallery at your next meeting, special event, church or place of business.
  • Become a transporter for DCFS.

BECOME A CASA VOLUNTEER

CASA
 (Court Appointed Special Advocate)

CASA is a program where trained court appointed volunteers represent the best interest of an abused or neglected child for whom a placement is being decided by the juvenile court.  CASA volunteers act as a fact finder of the child's best interest, providing a judge with valuable information about the child to help the court make a sound decision about the child's future.

Contact your local CASA office for more information.

BECOME A BLANKETEER

PROJECT LINUS

The mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer “blanketeers.”

The  volunteers, known as “blanketeers,” provide new, handmade, washable blankets to be given as gifts to seriously ill and traumatized children, ages 0-18. It is Project Linus’ policy to accept blankets of all sizes, depending on local chapter needs. All blanket styles are welcome, including quilts, tied comforters, fleece blankets, crocheted or knitted afghans, and receiving blankets in child-friendly colors. Always remember that blankets must be homemade, washable, free of pins, and come from smoke-free environments due to allergy reasons
